Inside the New James Dean Memorial Gallery
David Loehr has unveiled his art-deco building at exit 59 off Interstate 69, Gas City, Indiana. Here are some random pictures. Come see all this in person!
Steve Vodde from Illinois in the Giant room, leaning on an actual fence from the movie. You could be standing here.
Adeline Nall is well-represented in the museum. She was Jimmy’s mentor as his high school speech and drama teacher. She also “discovered” Nicky Bazooka and made him a star. (Links at bottom of page.)
Kenneth Kendall miniatures. Many Kenneth Kendall works enhance the main entrance room of the memorial gallery.
Kenneth Kendall sculpted the head of James Dean featured at Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, where crucial scenes from Rebel Without A Cause were filmed. Duplicates of the head are in the Gallery and in the park on Main Street in downtown Fairmount.
Brian Hatton, Nashville TN, with the Spyder replica he created.
