I warned a newcomer that there would be applause and laughter during this service. As a first-timer, I was surprised to learn that!  Now I can’t imagine it any other way.   There are tears too, as we remember friends no longer with us.  The Memorial Service is a warm memory for each of us who have had the privilege of attending.
