from her Deaner friends and othersThis first tribute for Louise is from Casper Roos, a serious fan of the band Golden Earring. His website address is http://home.wanadoo.nl/casper.roos/index.html ( I mistakenly thought he was a member of the band, but he graciously sent me the correction.)Mr. Roos' memorial speech for Louise's service is translated into English on

This new single (I've Just Lost Somebody) will have a dark meaning for me and many Golden Earring fans forever. On January 10th, 2005 I received the very sad news that one of my Golden Earring friends called Louise Angelique Donk has passed away due to useless violence. She died because some lunatic threw down a large brick from above the A4 motorway near Rijswijk which damaged her front window and hit her in the face. She died because of these heavy injuries in hospital soon afterwards..... I knew this girl from way back in the 90's when she and I were at the opening of the Golden Earring Street in Almere. She was a real Golden Earring fanatic and I met her and her friend from time to time at concerts and at their home once.
The single release with the appropriate name will always remind us Golden Earring fans about this fine woman. I now have contacted Mari vd Anker, the friend of the sadly deceased Louise Donk. Mari and Louise's parents gave me their permission to mention her name on my website and all possible internet forums to announce her dead.
They might not be able to reach all of you, Golden Earring fans and friends to tell you the sad news. Of course Mari and Louise's family are devastated and can't comprehend the situation yet. But Mari also asked me to tell all of you that Louise will be cremated on Saturday January 15th at Uden Crematorium at 16.00 hrs. All who want to attend are welcome.
I personally know I will always think of her when I hear the soon to be released new Golden Earring single: I've just lost somebody..... But again USELESS VIOLENCE struck The Netherlands and did kill one of my Golden Earring friends! I hereby dedicate the new Golden Earring single "I've just lost somebody" to her.
There are no words to describe what I feel now..... I still do not know much to say. What can you say........ But just letting them know I think about them and their loved one was the most simple thing I could do. Let us remember Louise as she was: always friendly, a laugh and a fan of the band, our band. A fan always in the background, so much different to some other girl fans I know. May she be remembered as one of the most fanatic Golden Earring fans in the large Golden Earring Family and let us think about her every time this single is played on radio, tv or your soundsystem at home..........
I wish her friend Mari and her family all the strength they need in the coming weeks and months......... She will be remembered!

Hi,
I`m Ingeborg, the sister of Louise. I will let you know that I`m pleased to read that you will make a memorial page for her. She was always so happy to go to Fairmount and she had always fun there. She spoke a lot about the weekends and the people she did met there.

WE LOST SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL THIS WEEKFrom Pamela Crawford, President of We Remember Dean International:
Sadly, this newsletter bears the most tragic news: Louise Donk, a beloved JDR member from The Netherlands was killed this week when someone tossed a large brick off an overpass onto the highway that she was driving on in her native Netherlands. The brick crashed through the windshield of Louise's car and hit her in the face. Louise died some time later in a local hospital. Louise has been a special friend to so many James Dean fans and fellow fan club members over the years. She and her cherished companion Mari vdAnker have been permanent fixtures at Fairmount's James Dean Festival for many years -- both saving all year long to earn the money to make the annual trip to the Festival. This special couple has added so much joy to the Festival each year with their sweet and friendly ways. Louise is going to be sorely missed.
Mari, of course, is devastated. It was he who conveyed the sad news to James Dean Gallery owner David Loehr this week. Please remember Louise, Mari, and the family in your prayers. I am including an address so that those of you who knew Louise (or perhaps didn't know her but just want to let Mari and the family know that you care) can send condolence cards. The world has lost a beautiful good-will ambassador with the senseless passing of Louise.
Send cards to:
Mari vdAnker or Family of Louise Donk Cellostraat 23, 5402 AA, Uden The Netherlands EUROPEPhotos of Louise are on a separate page. Click here for the photos.
