This is the plaque on David Loehr's
James Dean Memorial Gallery building in Fairmount.
New to me art at the Gallery:
Champion Jessie Dillinger admires a movie-themed flower arrangement by Greg Swenson of St. Louis.
Jesse recently had a blood clot in her lung. In the hospital, they pumped her full of prednisone which swelled her face like a melon. The clot will always be there, she was told. Meanwhile, she is still the same Jesse but she doesn't look like herself.
So really, all three contestants in Jeopardy have been going through rough times, but look at them smile! James Dean is great for getting your mind off everything else. Did I mention that Jesse went out to visit her aunt in Las Vegas? She put 40 nickels into a slot machine that had pictures of James Dean on the spinners. She won $300.00! She will tell us in what casino she found it, I trust.
What luck to have an ice cream truck stop by the Gallery!

Your photographer is no longer a redhead, but at least these 1950s glasses were just a momentary whim. I'll be looking for you at the September James Dean Festival, Friday September 26 through Sunday the 28th and at the Memorial Service at Back Creek Friends Church on Tuesday, September 30th. Come around 11 or 11:30 am for brunch. Service starts around 1, then we march to Park Cemetery behind Nicky Bazooka for more ceremony. Be sure to bring a nice donation for Back Creek Friends hospitality.
