Every year since 1998, David Loehr has hosted a wonderful fan appreciation weekend for Dean fans, especially including  those who can't be here in September or who can't handle the crowds of September.  We always start with a dinner gathering on Friday night, a James Dean themed Jeopardy contest on Saturday afternoon and a fancy banquet Saturday evening followed by Mark Kinnaman's night walk of Fairmount..  This year we had the bonus of exploring the brand new James Dean Memorial Gallery which David opened in May 2004, at exit 59 of Interstate 69, Gas City exit.  That's four miles north of exit 55, the exit for Fairmount.  (Link below)

Lenny has taken over the former Gallery building at 425 North Main Street in Fairmount, for his Rebel Rebel nostalgia store.

Here are the photos from the pizza party at the new Gallery.  The next pages will show the Jeopardy crowd and the banquet crowd.

First time visitors from Central Indiana.   A first time visitor from Southern California!

  Mark Kinnaman from Fairmount.

From Indianapolis, formerly from New York City. A lifesaver from Marion.  Check out the cafe on the courthouse square.

Here we are in the new Gallery's theatre, watching a  DVD of Rebel Without a Cause on the giant screen.
I think I have a disk missing, because there were a lot more people at the Friday night party than I have pictures of.  If I find a missing disk, I will add to this page.

James Dean's Headstone July 2004

This side faces west.  Go to the middle entrance to Park Cemetery, drive ahead to your second right,  turn, go to the top of the hill and visit with James Dean's spirit.  Fans leave mementos.

And now, let's go to the Jeopardy-style contest!
