The 2004 James Dean Jeopardy Contest
held at
David Loehr's 2004 James Dean Fan Appreciation Weekend
Fairmount, Indiana

Believe it, newcomers. We take this game very seriously.  Take the elimination test if you make it to Fairmount.  Each year you'll get more answers right, and you too will absorb trivia beyond your wildest imaginings.  Three time champion Mark Kinnaman made up this year's preliminary-round questions.  Lenny makes up the rest of the contest, the smack-yourself-on-the-head part, the "why couldn't I remember that?"

The dollar amounts aren't real dollars.  The winner gets a gift certificate.  Nevertheless, there is intense competition for the honor of being the CHAMPION.  I can't put the questions and answers on this website, because some questions occasionally pop up again.

The three contestants are Del Rey (at left, and in disguise) of the Chicago area, Debby Collinson of Brighton, England, and Freddy Boles from Indiana.  Del was second after the first two rounds but he won with his daring bet on final Jeopardy, plus his correct answer.  Del has been a champion in this contest once before.

Some of the Jeopardy-style categories over the years included all James Dean's TV appearances, all the plays he was in and their theatres, tough questions about all the stars in each of his movies, which photographer took which picture, who directed each movie or play,
how to spell names of people and characters he played, how to spell fans' names, questions about minor parts in his movies, questions about his life in New York City and in Fairmount and in Los Angeles, especially names of people he knew.  Genealogy  questions.  Girlfriends.    There will never be a lack of new questions.

Now let's go to the banquet at Ryan's Steak House
